Founded by Bruce Caissie during the 2004-2005 school year, The Battle of the Bridges recognizes the longstanding varsity sports rivalry between Northbridge and Uxbridge.
Every varsity sport that the schools play against each other is counted for 1 point, unless they meet only once (eg. Football game is worth 2 points.) Playoff meetings are also worth two points.
The trophy is a moving award, the winning school returns it when the year is over. The winning years are also recorded on banners that hang in both schools Gyms. The trophy is passed either at a school committee meeting or at Uxbridge sports banquet. The winning town’s KofC council sponsors the engraving for that year.
